This course will provide students with the basic knowledge of plastics needed to enter the plastics industry. This is the foundation for more in-depth classes leading to specific fields in plastics. The focus will be primarily on injection molding but is beneficial for all processes, such as extruding, blow molding, thermoforming, and rotational molding.

Course highlights include:
  • Reviewing the history of plastics
  • Understanding polymers
  • Testing and properties
  • Examining MSDS
  • Discussing primary and secondary processes
  • Analyzing and conducting injection molding
Notes: There is no prerequisite for this class. The handout material and a certificate of completion are included with the course fee.
