This course is the second in a three-part math series that is intended to bring a student’s math understanding up to college entry level. The class will provide a foundation in the concepts of basic algebra. It covers the topics considered essential in a first algebra course while emphasizing applications of algebra throughout. The notion of the variable is used to formalize ideas and procedures as they apply to the set of real numbers. Course highlights include:
